Sex Selection (Male/Female)

The sex or gender of embryos generated through IVF can be determined using the latest technology called pre implantation genetic testing. One of the cells of a developing embryo can be taken out to the laboratory for testing and the result analyzed for sex chromosomes.

This procedure is offered to couples who want to balance their families or for the genetic health of the baby. The embryos with the desired sex are selected for transfer into the uterus during embryo transfer.
