Percutaneous Sperm Aspiration (PESA)

This is a type of surgical sperm retrieval that is used to retrieve sperm cells from the epididymis of men who are azoospermic (no sperm cells in the ejaculation) as a result of blockage in the tubes(Vas Deferens).

The procedure is usually performed in the day of egg retrievals, so that if sperm cells are found, they can be used in ICSI.
