TruCare Fertility Clinic offers sperm storage services.
Sperm Storage is often referred to as fertility preservation because it allows a man to preserve his fertility, i.e. the chance of conceiving a child with his own sperm, until a later point in his life when he is ready to have a child.
Sperm storage is a simple, accessible, and affordable option for individuals who are concerned about decreased fertility.
Some store there sperms because they are facing possible sterility due to cancer treatment or surgery, and couple who do not reside together.
Others are planning vasectomies or beginning the process of sex reassignment and choose sperm storage as a way of keeping their reproductive options open.
There are lots of reasons why you might need to store (freeze) your sperm. It’s a highly effective, simple way of preserving your fertility until you’re ready to start or grow your family. Sperm can be frozen and stored for as long as your storage consent allows.
How do I arrange sperm freezing?
Please ask your GP or specialist for a referral form to see one of our specialists at TruCare Fertility Clinic.
It is preferable if, before your first appointment, blood tests for hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV are arranged. We routinely screen for these infections because they may be transmitted through the semen, and to minimise the risk of contamination during storage.
Once you receive your blood test results, please contact us to arrange, to book a time, to produce the sample at our clinic. At this time you will need to sign consent forms for the freezing and storage of sperm. All frozen sperm sample are labeled accordingly.
